THE KAIZEN REPORT

#4

One of my hero’s, Zig Zigler, is famous for saying “You can have anything you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”  That is a great personal and business philosophy.  It is the idea of meeting the other persons needs first thus your needs being met will follow.

Taken to an extreme though, that philosophy can be used for selfish gains.  The true mettle of a man or woman is how they treat other people when that other person can’t help you financially or personally.  It is easy to be nice to the rich, well-dressed, attractive people who are the movers and shakers of your community.  Everybody wants to snuggle up to the celebrities.  As a salesperson, you can’t help but be on your “best behavior” around your best customers i.e. the customers where you can make the most money.

But what about those you come in contact with that, because of certain limitations, can’t do anything for you.  How do you treat them?  They aren’t going to influence whether you get the promotion or get the sale.  They aren’t going to make you or your company money.  They are the so called “little people.”  A good barometer for a person’s character is how that person treats those that he or she will gain nothing from helping meet their needs.  Remember – LOVE PEOPLE, USE THINGS.

Keep it simple, remember that people are unique and can not be replaced.  Each person is important and is someone’s son, daughter, brother, sister, mother or father.  True success comes when we see everybody we come in contact with as our son, daughter, brother, sister, mother or father.

If you buy printing, you decide which company produces that for you.  I hope you will consider using DSI and me.  You can find more information about our capabilities and specialties at www.gregeubanks.com.  There may be some area we can help save you and your business money.
